More than a century ago, our predecessor, The Shelter Haven Hotel, celebrated its launch with a watermelon-themed extravaganza. Fast forward to today, you’re invited to gather for an afternoon of family-friendly fun at Water Star Grille, including watermelon-inspired activities and refreshments. Watermelon Eating Contest

Guests of all ages are invited to join in on the fun during a series of heats with exciting prizes to be awarded to the winners.

10:45am: 3 to 5 years 

11:00am: 6 to 8 years 

11:15am: 9 to 12 years

11:30am: 13 to 17 years 

11:45am: Parents and Finalists 

Prizes include a Reeds dining gift certificate

Reeds & Seeds King and Queen Contest

Children 12 and under are invited to enter the annual contest upon arrival by submitting their most creative response to the question “Why do you want to be the watermelon King or Queen?”
